Each month we gather on a Friday night for intense time before Abba. We want to be intentional about going into His presence and spending time with Him. There is always something different, always something new. Music and prayer are at the heart of it. Encountering the presence of Abba is the reason for it.

This is a come-at-your-convenience affair. Come and stay as long as you desire.

Cell groups are not just the heart of church, they ARE the church! Reading in the book of Acts, the sense of family, the displays of power, the walk of authority, all took place within the structure of cells. No two cells are identical and each has their own personality. The common thread is an amazing sense of belonging, love and acceptance and the realization that what we read in the New Testament actually applies to littl’ ol’ me.

Come visit a gathering of a cell as our special guest. There is no obligation nor expectation… we welcome visitors into our family gathering and you will feel perfectly at home.

Well known in many English-speaking countries, Auld Lang Syne is often sung to celebrate the start of the New Year at the stroke of midnight. By extension, its use has also become common at funerals, graduations, and as a farewell or ending to other occasions. The song’s Scottish title may be translated into English literally as “old long since”, or more idiomatically, “long long ago.”

The Message Church is going to bring out the Auld Lang Syne, not just to bid farewell to 2010, but to hail the arrival of the new year of 2011. We are going to do it under a heaven that is open and waiting for those who are adventuresome enough to venture before heaven’s throne and ask for the impossible to become possible during the course of the coming twelve months.

We’ll gather at 9:00pm with refreshments and light snacks to enjoy the last whispers of the current year. At 11:00pm we’ll move into the mindset of anticipating the soon to arrive new year and go before Abba to seek His favor.

Come join with us and experience the beginning of a New Year like you’ve never done before!

It’s as simple as pulling a tag off the Christmas tree in the worship center, buying the gift on the tag, wrapping it and bringing it back by the date on the tag. That’s it!

Join with us as we light up a child’s eyes and show his parents that someone in the community cares. What a blessing to be able to show Jesus through the joy of a child!

The workshop will be led by pastor Joe. Coming out of his training and personal experience, he states that what has been the catalyst of much of what has happened in his own prayer life has been an increasing awareness of what prayer isn’t and what it really is. He felt like such a miserable prayer-failure for so many scores of years that he assumed that it either wasn’t real or that there was something wrong with me. Talking with others, he heard the same story.

Starting with an “I can’t believe that just happened and now I get it!” experience in March of 2000, he began to progress helter-skelter in his understanding of, and experience in, prayer. He said it was “helter-skelter” because it wasn’t organized nor pretty, it often appeared to make absolutely no sense, but, it “advanced the ball down the field.”

He admits he is not an expert by any stretch of the imagination; rather, he will share what he has seen occurring personally and corporately, and what has enabled him to pray better, stronger, more powerfully and authoritatively. He is determined to see the impossible occurring and the God-of-the-angel-armies giving glimpses of the activity taking place in the heavenly realms.

It will be an interesting, provocative, enlightening and empowering three hours.

The particulars of this event:

• Space is limited. Rooms will be allotted on a first-come first-serve basis.

• Alpha will begin on Friday night, November 19 at 7:00pm. It will go all day Saturday and we will leave at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning from Ft. Caswell to go to The Message for services. We will have 3 meals on campus on Saturday.

• Friday night will be a time of bonding and worship. You will be introduced to “soaking” and intimate worship in the Spirit. This will be an opportunity to explore the frontiers of true worship in ways you may have never experienced.

• Saturday will offer an opportunity to explore and grow in your faith. We will spend significant time talking about, studying and practicing a vibrant, life-changing faith — what it looks like, how to get more, how to live and model it. It will be a time of questions and answers; it will be an opportunity to ask about things you’ve always wanted to know in an intimate setting; it will offer you the ability to examine aspects of faith, and what others are saying, in a non-threatening, friendly environment.

• Saturday night will usher in a soul-satisfying time of praise, which will lead into worship, which will bring us into glory. This will be a time of being fully in the presence of Abba.

• The cost is $98 per person. There is limited scholarship funding available. Do not let the lack of funds stand in the way of this opportunity. Let me pastor Joe know if you are needing assistance.

As a church we have not yet experienced the wonder, awe and power of corporate worship that redefines everything we know about the spiritual realms. You’ve heard it alluded to and have tasted small servings of it; this weekend will throw open the doors!

People will be talking about this event for years to come. Don’t miss it!

The Message Church is partnering with Samaritan’s Purse to be a collection point for the Christmas boxes in the Leland area. During the week of November 15-22 we will be receiving hundreds of shoe boxes from churches and individuals all over the area.

We will need to have volunteers at the building throughout this week to collect the boxes. Please give an hour or two to man the collection point; the joy that comes from such an endeavor will definitely get you into the real Christmas spirit!

Discipleship.

Without it, you’re dead in the Kingdom. It is your armor, your protection, your weaponry. You cannot go up against the Enemy without it.

We have chosen to base our discipleship training on the book, The Four Priorities: Life is Too Short to Get It Wrong. It confronts life’s voids, challenges and demonstrates how to “get it right” through a personal, progressive commitment to Christ, self-valuation, relationship building and community connections. We want to bring direction and focus to every believer; exponential multiplication is the desired outcome.

The Four Priorities uses a creative mix of real-world case studies and scriptural analogies to identify with its students. It measures your “got right” factor and forces the answers to tough questions, such as “Have you left an imprint on the lives of people and your community?” It then presents a pathway to achieving the following four priorities which characterize a successful, balanced way of life.

• Priority 1: A personal, progressive commitment to Jesus Christ
• Priority 2: A personal, progressive commitment to yourself
• Priority 3: A personal, progressive commitment to relationships
• Priority 4: A personal, progressive commitment to the work of Christ in the world

Our objective is to help the believer become a person of high impact. We meet every Tuesday from 10:30am to 12:30pm at The Blend in Monkey Junction.

Alpha in November is a weekend extravaganza, a Friday night and two Saturday affair designed to create an encounter with God in a real, significant and life-changing way.

The Alpha Course forms the basis of the weekend, the environment and the people provide the stimulus.Alpha in November offers an opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. During the event you will enjoy great food, laughter and learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere where no question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile…questions like—Is there a God? Why am I here? Where did I come from? Where am I going?

Better yet, the Alpha Course will usher you in to the presence of the Kingdom and allow you to explore it in a way that you would typically not be able to.
